captivesoulCaptive Soul

Many things like sin and trauma can fragment our soul. The fragmented parts of our soul can be within our body, while other parts can be outside of our body.  When I first learned of the captive soul I struggled to believe that parts of our soul could be outside of our body. The Lord showed me that there is no time or space in the spirit realm and trying to analyse all this from an earthly perspective is impossible. We have to line up what He is showing us with the written word of God.

A Captive soul is where parts of our soul are taken outside of our body and held in captivity (prison) by the tormentors. The prisons I believe are in Hades. There can be strongholds and fortresses within us causing false protection around fragmented pieces, but also around the parts of us that are in captivity outside of our body. The Lord revealed once to me that I had a captive soul in the second Heaven.  It is between Heaven and earth. The second heaven is satan’s lair and where he operates from. I was once shown a torture room with a dragon where the parts of souls are tortured. The Lord told me that the ones in this place are because satan has specifically asked for them to be sifted like wheat. There can be multiple parts of our soul in captivity. The Lord told me that the soul cannot be taken captive unless there is rebellion, disobedience or a sin involved.  This may also include ancestral sins.

In regard to the captive soul we see in the Bible when the children of God are rebellious or disobedient against God they get handed over to the opposing nations to be captured as slaves.   Isaiah 5 shows us that disobedience toward God enabled the Godly hedge of protection to be removed, and the disobedient people being taken into captivity. When we are rebellious or disobedient a part of our soul can be handed over to the tormentors. And his master was angry, and delivered him to the torturers until he should pay all that was due to him. “So My heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother his trespasses” (Matthew 18:34-35, NKJV). In this example a fellow servants master forgave him his debt, and in turn the fellow servant refused to forgive another their debt towards him.  The unforgiveness was the sin that enabled this man to be handed over to the tormentors.

The following Scriptures show us that we need to be released from captivity and that Jesus went ahead and prepared the way for us when He descended into Hades to retrieve the keys over Hades and death: -“When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men. (Now this, “He ascended”—what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth)? (Ephesians 4:8-9, NKJV).

(Psalm 142:7, NKJV) - “Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise Your name; The righteous shall surround me, For You shall deal bountifully with me.”

(Acts 2:27-28, NKJV) – “For You will not leave my soul in Hades, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of joy in Your presence”.

(Psalm 124:7, NKJV) - Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we have escaped. For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness. Those who sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, Bound in affliction and irons— because they rebelled against the words of God, and despised the counsel of the Most High, Therefore He brought down their heart with labor; they fell down, and there was none to help. Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their chains in pieces. Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He has broken the gates of bronze, and cut the bars of iron in two (Psalm 107:9-16, NKJV).

(Isaiah 42:6-7, NKJV) - “I, the Lord, have called You in righteousness, And will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, As a light to the Gentiles, To open blind eyes, To bring out prisoners from the prison, Those who sit in darkness from the prison house.

Releasing the Captive Soul This is the method the Lord has taught us to use in Ministry.  It is written here for oneself to use but even better if someone else can pray with you. If you want a PDF of this click here

(PRAYER) - “I ask the Holy Spirit to please show me if there are any areas of my soul in captivity.”
(Wait on God - If He has shown you areas of captivity continue with the next parts).

“Father God please show me all sins which enabled parts of my soul to be handed over to the tormentors.”

(Wait on God, then when you have been shown pray the prayer below).

“I repent in Jesus name for (name the sin).  I repent for all rebellious, sinful and disobedient acts on behalf of myself and my bloodline against You God, Your Son and Your Holy Spirit.  I repent also for all rebellious, sinful and disobedient acts against mankind, those You have placed in authority and Your creation. I now ask for You Father God to send the Angel of the Lord to release me”.

(Pray): "The Angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them" (Psalm 34:7, NKJV).
(Wait on God for confirmation that the Angel of the Lord has released you.  It is our belief that the Angel of the Lord is God Himself showing Himself to humans in the form of an angel.  Whenever the Bible uses ‘the Angel of the lord’ as opposed to ‘an angel of the Lord’ the angel refers to Himself as God in the first person).

“I now speak to those parts of myself in captivity and declare ‘Come forth in Jesus name’.”

(In regions of captivity there is always darkness. We now need the light of the Word to become a lamp to our feet to guide us out). Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105, KJV).

“Lord Jesus I pray that You would give me Scriptures to light the way so I can come out of captivity”.

(Pray all Scriptures that the Lord shows you.  Look for Scriptures that pertain to the sins and use them to set yourself free.  For example if there was self-condemnation you could pray: - There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit (Romans 8:1, KJV). When you have finished praying them ask the Lord to confirm that you have come out of the place of captivity.  When you have confirmation continue…..)

Healing -
(Pray) - “Lord, please minister to the wounded soul. Please restore and place back into alignment all pieces that were held in captivity. Pour in the healing balm of the Holy Spirit and cause your healing to radiate all around through spirit, soul and body. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. (Psalm 23:2-3, NKJV). I ask that You would destroy all prisons of captivity, In Jesus name, Amen".
