Why Choose Jesus

Why would you want to make the choice to become a Christian and make Jesus Christ become the Lord of your Life?

First and foremost you are unable to be saved and enter the Kingdom of Heaven unless you understand and acknowledge that Jesus died on the Cross so that you can be cleansed of your sins ~ for we are all sinners (even the most well-behaved, most-liked, caring people in this world are not free from sin).  And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God (1 John 5:11-13, NKJV). God loves us so much that He sacrificed His son (Jesus Christ) for our sins, so we can discover the secrets to an eternal life.  God is so good and so full of light that He abhors sin. He cannot let sin enter the Kingdom of Heaven - nor can He look at us when we are full of sin.  God created a law by which all humans needed to follow 100% to the letter before they could be blessed or enter His Heavenly Kingdom upon death.  Man could not do this as it was too hard and man is a fallen vessel.  God knew this so became a man (Jesus Christ) in the flesh and defeated the devil by keeping the law and being crucified (put to death) for our sins.  God (the Father) laid our sins upon Jesus and He became the sacrifical lamb. All He asks us to do is repent for our sins and acknowledge and thank Jesus for dying for us; and then to ask Jesus to become Lord of our life.  It is actually so simple, yet for some, it seems so complex. Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified (Galatians 2:16, NKJV).

Once Jesus becomes Lord of our lives God no longer sees our sin because we are covered in His blood.  We are justified (made right) with God through faith in Jesus Christ.  There is no other way to have a relationship with God other than through Jesus Christ. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 2:5, NKJV).

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me (John 14:6, NKJV). We then begin a journey with Jesus by reading and following His word (The Holy Bible) and entering into a relationship with Him.  God wants to know you personally and if you give Him time He will speak to you and reveal His plans to you.

If you decide to make the important step to discover the secret world of God (it comes by revelation), you can learn to know what He can do for you.  God is like a Father, a Healer, a Teacher, and a Good Boss.  He teaches you things to make you stronger and wiser. He loves you and compliments you when you need it. He disciplines you and He lets you stumble only to pick you back up again.  God rewards those who diligently seek Him and love Him.  If you seek Him ~ and let Him transform you~ through the transformation process as you allow Him to sanctify (cleanse you of your sins) you enter into all His blessings.  A lot of people think being a Christian is about striving to become this holy person (and in your own strength that is impossible). That only creates unrealistic expectations, and many people decide it is too hard to be that  good, so they either walk away, or don’t seek God in the first place.  God does want to change us, but it is a gradual process. We cannot change into a perfect person overnight. God hates sin, and can not look upon sin.  Once we accept Jesus, God sees us only through the Blood of Jesus. We then go on a journey of putting off the old man and putting on the new. It is about opening yourself up and being open to changing one step one day at a time.  It is about yielding. He is the only one who can transform us into the express image of His Son, Jesus Christ.  When you start to see things through the eyes of God you will want to change, you will begin to hate what He hates, and love what He loves!  It is a love relationship.

God sees your heart, but you will make mistakes. Fortunately for us, Jesus died on the cross for our sins, so they are already forgiven before we even do them (all we need to do is to confess them).  If you endeavour to just read 10 -15 minutes of reading the Bible daily, and spend 10 - 20 minutes with pen and paper and pray to God and ask Him to speak to you each day,  you will be surprised at how He will speak to you.  A lot of religious people have mindsets and feel they have to go to church, have to do religious things, but it is really about simply having a personal relationship with God (through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit) ~ that is what God wants most of all with you.  When you practice hearing God’s voice and, along with regular Bible reading, He can transform your life and lead you in a direction that He has specifically hand picked especially for you. His path is the best path that you could possibly imagine.  It doesn’t mean it is the easiest path (as there are many hurdles and obstacles to overcome) but it is definitely the best path.  God can do things in your life that no amount of counselors, doctors, therapists could ever do!  Every single one of us needs Jesus because 'life isn't life' without Him.
