Occultic Checklist (A-M) (see also checklist N-Z)
The occult is a category of supernatural beliefs and practices encompassing phenomena involving otherworldly agency as mysticism, spirituality, and magic. The occult (from the Latin word Occultus meaning 'clandestine, hidden, secret') is 'knowledge of the hidden'. In common usage, occult refers to 'knowledge of the paranormal'. Many occult practices come under the umbrella of witchcraft.
-
in Greek mythology the name of the Pythian serpent or dragon that dwelt in the region of Pytho at the foot of Parnassus in Phocis, and was said to have guarded the oracle at Delphi and been slain by Apollo
-
a spirit of divination
All occult sources and practices are done by using the power or source of a 'god'. God (who is Jesus Christ in the flesh) is very clear - 'thou shalt have no other gods before Me'. Those who practice or partake of these occult forms of healing are trusting in the power of another god and this is idolatry. From a Christian perspective we are to avoid every form of the occult outside of Jesus Christ and what the Bible clarifies as Godly practices. Occult involvement is a weapon that satan uses. Sometimes it is very difficult to see. Occult is also when an individual seeks to gain knowledge, peace (enlightenment), healing or power from a spiritual source other than God (Jesus) and His Word. The devil can mimic love and peace and will even perform healings, tricks, counterfeit peace, signs and wonders including encounters with spirits mimicking God that give us wonderful feelings which feed our emotions if that will keep unsaved people from the one true message which is Jesus Christ. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect (Matthew 24:24, NKJV). The Lord wants to give us Love, Joy and Peace but it is more of a security within than a play on feelings. The Holy Spirit taught me to never ever discern God through my feelings because feelings are easily misled. This isn't to say that God won't use feelings because He does but there is a time when He wants us to know Him, love Him and trust Him through faith alone. Many times these alternate sources can bring great results and actual healing, but there is a cost! The devil can even use these signs and wonders to lead us astray and away from the will of God and His direction.
Many things Christians do can be occultic, which they are unaware of. This checklist is to bring awareness, not condemnation. By being informed, we can repent, close the doors and avoid satan gaining access to us through occult means. Most practitioners who practice these things are completely unaware of the occult roots and source of the power they are using. Many believe it is God, or that they themselves have a gift. Remember it is the work of the devil and demonic spirits that afflicts you with infirmities in the first place, hence it is very simple for him to remove that affliction which appears as a healing. He will then replace that affliction with another. It may not be apparent at first but will later on manifest itself . If a consultant doesn't profess Jesus Christ as the source and power of their gift; STAY AWAY! The other thing you need to look for is the foundation. Is the healing practice founded on the belief that Jesus Christ is God in the flesh and that the only way to be saved and made whole is through believing on Him? I have seen some Christians use occult methods and simply insert Jesus into them believing this is okay. The Bible tells us not to mix holy with unholy. You cannot chuck Jesus into a healing method founded on the occult. This does not mean that you cannot use methods founded on Jesus Christ using ways that appear similar to what the occultists use. Remember the devil likes to mimic God and he probably stole the idea from Him in the first place. You just have to make sure that the method is Scripturally sound and backed up by the word of God.
Many occult practices use energy healing. Energy healing is an alternative practice that is designed to activate your body’s energy systems to clear, repair and balance your energy body (spirit/soul) to facilitate health in your physical body. Anything to do with energy or energy blocks is spiritual. If you are using any source of energy healing other than the name of Jesus Christ or His word (the Bible) then the power behind that source is satan.
The Holy Spirit has shown me that many New Age techniques are creeping into Christian Ministries. There may be a few concepts in New Age beliefs that are right but the methodology of dealing with them is wrong. Those who practice New Age hypothesize that the body contains an energy field, an 'innate force' which is an invisible life force, sometimes referred to as Qi (Chi), Prana or vital force and when there is a blockage can prevent healing. New Age movement is based on the idea that there is a cosmic energy inside of everything, including our bodies. This energy they claim is the very "material" of both creation and deity, and when in proper balance and focus, humans can realise personal divinity for themselves. They have no need of a Saviour. In one sense there is a Biblical truth within this which is the fact that man does have an invisible life force (spirit) within Him. We see clearly in Genesis that God did breathe His breath (Life Force) into man but this is as far as the truth goes. And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul (Genesis 2:7). His creation (trees, flowers, rivers) is not Him – that is part of the New Age belief that God is in all things. They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen (Romans 1:25, NIV). We know by science and the Bible that there are two kinds of energy - physical and spiritual. Spiritual energy is not tangible and has no matter. Physical energy is tangible and contains matter. The Bible shows us that man and animals carry the breath of life (Genesis 2:17, 6:17 and 7:15) which is spiritual. Creation has life and energy, (both physical and spiritual energy) but not the breath of life. God did not breathe creation into being, He spoke it into being. The tongue has power to bring life or death and contains spiritual energy. God gave life (spiritual energy) for creation to exist but creation itself is not God. God is omnipresent and His Spirit is everywhere but to claim that a flower contains the Spirit of God is not true. Although the spirit of animals and humans is the breath of life and comes from God's own breath you don't receive the life changing power of the Spirit of God until you receive Jesus, are born-again and filled with His Holy Spirit. In other words the spirit (before you are born-again) still belongs to God and is of God but His Holy Spirit is what carries the dunamis power of God. The idea that we can manipulate the spiritual force within man goes against the Bible. We are shown that God is the potter and we are the clay. Any attempt to mess with the part of Him in us is essentially trying to manipulate and control God (that very life force within man). You turn things upside down! Shall the potter be regarded as the clay, that the thing made should say of its maker, “He did not make me”; or the thing formed say of him who formed it, “He has no understanding”? (Isaiah 29:16). Any belief in personal divinity (making oneself god-like), or an acceptance of other religions and beliefs rejects the God of the Bible. The Scriptures exhort us to "test everything. Hold on to the good. Avoid every kind of evil" (1 Thessalonians 5:21-22). When put to the test New Age practices which are rooted in anti-biblical beliefs, clearly fail. Scriptures condemn teachings that remove Jesus Christ as the sole, sovereign Creator and Savior.
There is only one true power source we need for all our healings and afflictions - THE WORD OF GOD!! Using the Sword of the Spirit (Scripture) is our most powerful weapon. Remember Jesus is our only healer and Great Physician, and Jesus is of course the Word of God which became flesh and dwelt amongst us. He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions (Psalm 107:20, NKJV). This also includes all ways in which God uses to heal, such as the laying on of hands so we can be facilitators of His energy, speaking the word over yourself, things and others, speaking in faith by decreeing healing to an ailment as our words themselves and what we speak can bring life. Why would we even want to change God's great formula and deviate from it? Why do we think that God even wants to change it with these new ways? "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever" (Hebrews 13:8 NIV). We can inherit demons because of our decision to participate in occult activities. The Lord showed me also that we can develop an ungodly soul tie with any practitioner we have allowed to work with us that operates contrary to God. This means any demons they carry have legal right to use that soul tie to oppress and dwell within us. Scary stuff!
Any activity you or your ancestors have entered into from this occult checklist simply repent of the activity and cast out all demons involved with the activity in the name of Jesus. Break all ungodly soul ties between you and all practitioners involved, as well as other members and the places of the events. Also break every curse that came as a result of these sins.
Objects themselves which are rooted in the occult can carry demonic spirits and curses with them also. Some objects can simply be blessed, have the ungodly soul ties broken and be covered with the blood of Christ to remove the curses and demonic spirits, but more often than not God will advise us to destroy the objects. (Seek God always if unsure).
• Abstract art - Under hallucinogenic stimulus- art produced while under the influence of drugs.
• Acupuncture - Treatment used in both Traditional and Classical Chinese Medicine. Acupuncture is based on the principle that there are energetic pathways, or channels, throughout the body that influence associated internal organs and structures. Energy from these pathways surfaces at various points on the body, identified as acupuncture points. Each of these acupuncture points serves as a tunnel, or access route, to the deeper circulatory channels within. Acupuncture is based on the occult system of Taoism often called Yin / Yang , Chi or Ki, and is supposed by the occultists and new age enthusiasts to be a common force that flows through the universe.
• Amulets - Tigers claw, sharks tooth, horseshoe over door, mascots, talisman – objects believed to have magical powers.
• Angels – Any beliefs in the power of angels to heal- instead of Jesus Christ as the source of the healing. (Angels can carry the healing power of Jesus to impart to someone or something but all glory goes to Jesus as the healer - not the angel). Any prayer or commands to angels directly-especially if calling on them by name, worship of angels, angel cards. The belief in Guardian angels as a companion or friend in an intimate relationship. God has ordained many angels for us but they are there to serve God for a specific purpose not to become man's companion.
• Ankh - A cross with a ring top used in satanic rites. This symbol originated in Egypt and symbolizes reincarnation. Egyptians were pagans and worshipped many gods like the sun-god Amen-Rah, and the pagan sun-trinity: Osiris, Isis and Horus. The ankh and the common cross were both used equally in ancient pagan sun-worship.
• Applied Kinesiology – A practice developed in 1964 to diagnose energy imbalances or nutritional values by pushing or pulling on different muscles and reading the corresponding weakness. The father of applied kinesiology is George Goodheart, a Michigan chiropractor who developed the concept. He combined elements of psychic philosophy, Chinese Taoism, and early chiropractic theory concerning the body's supposed Innate Intelligence with ancient Eastern practices designed to regulate supposed mystical life energies within the body.
*Not the same as Kinesiology, which is the science of Kinesiology, which is the legitimate study of muscular movement and tension as it relates to joints, tendons, and skeletal structure.
• Apport - Paranormal transference of an article from one place to another.
• Ayurveda - A Hindu system of traditional medicine native to India and a form of alternative medicine. This adopted the physics of the ‘five elements’ earth, water, fire, air and sky that compose the universe, and the human body, which is Chyle or plasma, blood, flesh, fat, bone, marrow and semen or female reproductive tissue. These are believed to be the seven primary constituent elements of the body. Ayurveda stresses a balance of three elemental energies or humors: air & space – (wind), fire & water – (bile) and water & earth – (phlegm). According to ayurvedic theory, these three substances must exist in equal quantities for balance. Ayurveda also focuses on exercise, yoga, and meditation. There are many different forms of detoxification and purification therapies in Ayurveda. It might be through the promotion of sweating, urination or excretion, or through reduction therapy. Reduction therapy in Ayurveda has two parts: palliation and purification. Palliation means calming or pacifying. It is largely for reducing toxins, the undigested food mass, and calming the doshas so that they can be dispelled from the body through purification therapy. This can be by the use of herbs for burning up toxins and stimulating digestion, fasting, exercise, and heating treatments such as sweating or warm oil massage. Purification known as Panchakarma includes Vamana (Medicated emesis which is therapeutic vomiting), Virechana (Medicated purgation by using powerful laxatives), Basti (Medicated enema - cleanses the accumulated toxins from all the 3 doshas (energies)through the colon), Nasya (Various nasal treatments to clear and cleanse the nasal passage, may include neti pot, nasal irrigation, sniffing of herbs, oil application to the nose and aromatherapy. This enables prana (life-force energy) to directly enter your brain), and Raktamokshana (Procedure to cleanse the blood using leeches or pricks in veins). The origin of ayurvedic medicine is attributed to Dhanvantari, the physician of the gods.
• Astral travel - This is defined as an out of body experience where your spiritual body is believed to leave your physical body and travel within the spiritual dimension. It is believed to be done using a counterfeit silver cord. The Godly silver cord is mentioned in Ecclesiastes 12:6 and is the link which breaks upon physical death. This looks like an umbilical cord and is connected between you and God. It is the life-line between you and God. The counterfeit silver cord is what occultists use and is a counterfeit umbilical cord attached from you to satan (or a demon). Satan is the god of this world and uses this cord as his life line from you to him. We know from Paul and John in Scripture that they both experienced being caught up into the third Heaven. The Bible states that they did not know if they were in their body or out of their body. I totally believe that God can transport your spirit, your soul and/or your physical body separately or all at once if He chooses, but it is according to His timing and will, we do not control this, He does. I know of incidences where people claim to have been transported from one country to another then back again in their real physical body. In regard to whether Satan can transport your spiritual body from your physical body to travel the spirit realm, satan does not have access to man's spirit, only mans soul so can project the soul (or part of the soul) from the earthly body using a demonic power and the counterfeit silver cord to do it. For a long time I believed that when one was astral travelling no part of their soul was actually leaving the body but instead a demon was using mans mind and senses to make them believe they themselves were travelling the spirit realm. A counterfeit spirit (claiming to be the Holy Spirit) had revealed this to me and I have sinced changed by belief on this as God revealed the truth to me that part of the soul is ejected from the body when one is astral travelling and the reason the demon deceived me with the lies was to prevent the healing of the soul that became fragmented when used for astral travelling. The soul is meant to be whole and when one astral travels they are ripping their soul apart to do so. We need to repent for damaging our souls. Any time we willingly try to do it ourselves (even when visiting the Heavenly realm) then it will be counterfeit and not of God. God chooses when to take us to Heaven (or other places) - not us. The Bible explicitly says that it forbids such practices.
PRAYER: - "Father God in Jesus name I repent for all attempts to astral travel instead of waiting and allowing You to take me into the spirit realm. I repent for the practice of ejecting my soul into the spirit realm and I repent for fragmenting my own soul. I sever the ungodly silver cord, all ungodly soul ties and links that I have formed with demons, satan and other people. I bind the demon who gives me this power to astral travel and command it to go in Jesus name. I pray for healing of the fragmented soul back into wholeness in Jesus name".
• Astrology (Fortune telling using divination based on influence of the position of the sun, moon, stars and planets upon individuals and upon the course of human affairs) Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee. Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it (Isaiah 47:13-14, KJV). There are many Christians today using astrology to try and predict Christ's return. And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the Lord thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven Deuteronomy 4:19, KJV). The Word of God, the Bible, is our guide through life and although the word says that stars, along with the sun and moon, were given for “signs” and “seasons” (that is to mark time for us, and be navigational indicators) it does not indicate any “hidden meaning” for these or other constellations.
• Attitudinal Healing - Attitudinal healing is the regulation or maintenance of physical, "mental," and/or spiritual health by learning "proper" mental attitudes. Because the spirit, mind, and body are interrelated, "proper" mental attitudes may influence the entire person toward desired spiritual, psychological, and/or physical goals. Mental attitudes are typically restructured to harmonize with new age/spiritistic philosophy.
• Augury - Fortune telling by interpreting signs or omens.
• Aura reading - An aura is a coloured glow surrounding a person. This can be seen in person or in a photograph. Different colours have different meanings. Readers look at your spiritual energy system: the layers of your aura, your energy channels, chakras, etc.
• Automatic writing - Words written while in a trance, directed by a spirit, also called Psychography.
• Birth signs/star signs/Zodiac - Astrological signs represent twelve equal segments or divisions of the zodiac. Predict a person’s personality based on positions of sun, moon, stars and other planets at the time of birth. In astronomy, the zodiac is the ring of constellations that lines the ecliptic, which is the apparent path of the Sun across the celestial sphere over the course of the year.
• Black arts - The belief in magical spells that harness occult forces or evil spirits to produce unnatural effects in the world.
• Birthstones - Birth stones are related to various months, each with their own meaning and 'power'. Medieval astrology believes different stones pertaining to an individuals birthdate in relation to the planetary alignment of horoscopes can be considered a good omen, or likely to lead to success. In light of this the roots of birthstones are occult in origin). **** This does not mean that you can’t have jewellery with stones or ornaments as they are Gods natural creation. I personally have heaps of jewellery with stones that are merely just ornamental. I also have lots of stones (pretty ones) and pebbles around my home as ornaments too (as well as shells). As long as you don’t keep or buy a stone that was given or purchased in relation to the occult beliefs it is fine. I would advise to discard or get rid of any jewellery or stone that was brought or given in light of your own birthstone as that was its intention and holds that root belief. Any other jewellery with stones I would pray over them and renounce any such occult beliefs declaring that it is just an ornament or jewellery piece with no powers whatsoever. I would also renounce any prayers that may have been said over the item too and command any demonic power to go in Jesus name.
****Special note: - I was contacted by a lady who had been given an item that was merely ornamental which had a stone inside it which was her birthstone. I asked the Lord about this and this is what I believe I heard: - 'If the item is sold specifically as a birthstone you will need to get rid of it because it will carry power. If the item is merely a novelty ornament or piece of jewellery that has a stone (even if it is your birthstone) renounce any belief in the birthstone and the item will be fine. If a friend got an ornament or piece of jewellery with a specific stone because they knew it was your birthstone then it will be fine because it is an ornamental stone with only your friends belief – just renounce their beliefs and break any ungodly soul ties between them, you and the item.
• Black magic - The belief in magical spells that harness occult forces or evil spirits to produce unnatural effects in the world.
• Black mass - Celebrated worship in honor of satan.
• Blood Letting - Removal of blood to cure or prevent illness or disease. The blood was believed to be a humor that needed to be in it's proper balance to maintain health. A humor is the theory that an excess or deficiency of any of the four bodily fluids (blood, phlegm, yellow bile and black bile) causes disease.
• Blood pacts - A very serious and legally binding pact between two or more parties in which blood from each party is placed onto the bottom of the pact next to the signature of each of the parties involved. Amendments to the pact cannot happen without the presence of all former parties present.
• Books - Anything occultic and New Age – yoga, mediums, wicca, white magic, spells, spiritualism, etc…..
• Bowen Therapy - A technique that involves gentle soft tissue manipulation. Therapists use their thumbs or fingers to make subtle rolling maneuvers. Bowen therapy aims to trigger a healing response from the body in which it can better cure itself. During a session, practitioners occasionally leave the treatment room, with the aim to allow the patient's body to absorb messages that have been transmitted by the practitioner via bodywork.
• Cartomancy - Fortune-telling or divination using a deck of cards.
• Chain letters - A message that advises the recipient to make a number of copies of the letter and then pass them on to as many recipients as possible. Common methods used in chain letters include emotionally manipulative stories, get-rich-quickly pyramid schemes, and the exploitation of superstition to threaten the recipient with bad luck or even physical violence or death if he or she "breaks the chain" and refuses to adhere to the conditions set out in the letter.
• Chakra cleansing - A chakra is defined as a wheel, or vortex of energy. There are seven primary chakras that flow through a human’s energetic system. The chakras have been called “windows to the soul” this is because they provide humans with subtle connections into soul consciousness. It is through the seven energy centers that vitality pulses throughout the human system energizing many physical, emotional and mental states. By removing blockages within the chakras through meditation and visulisation, you are able to remove blockages within your lives).
*****The word chakra is a new age terminology which originated in India. The Bible talks about gates and doors which we can open and allow the King of Glory in. These doors and gates do allow the breath of life into our spirits, souls and physical bodies but any blockage we may have in these doors or gates should only be cleansed through the word, prayer, Blood of Jesus, living water, etc.
Prayer to pray if you have been involved with Chakra cleansing: - “Father God in Jesus name I repent for the Occult belief in chakras and chakra cleansing. I repent for opening any doors or gates to the demonic in Jesus name. I open every door and gate to my spirit/soul and physical body to the Lord Jesus Christ, Father God and His Holy Spirit and invite You in. I repent for any attempt to cleanse and heal blockages in my spirit/soul and physical body without the Lord Jesus Christ. I declare that only by His precious sacrifice and blood to remit sin can I be cleansed, healed and made whole. Any attempt to do this myself using any forms of occult energy is sin and I repent in Jesus name. I cast out in Jesus name every demon who has been involved with chakra cleansing and anything else I have used to remove energy blocks from my spirit, soul and physical body. I now close every gate and door to the demonic and command that they can only ever exit and not enter in Jesus name, Amen.”
• Channeling - Occurs when someone permits a spirit entity to possess him or her for new age healing purposes. The spirits may perform psychic diagnosis or healing through a healer, or they may speak through the person's vocal chords in order to give spiritual, medical, and other teaching.
• Charmer - To fascinate, hypnotize, cast spells.
• Charms - The chanting of a magic word or verse; incantation – as simple as wart removal.
• Chinese astrology - Chinese astrology is based on the traditional astronomy and calendars. It does not calculate the positions of the sun. The Chinese Zodiac, known as Sheng Xiao in Chinese, is based on a twelve year cycle, each year in that cycle related to an animal sign.
• Chinese Birth chart - Chinese Birth Chart is an ancient prediction calendar to predict a gender of unborn baby. It was invented near Beijing about 700 years ago. The gender chart calculation is based on mother's age at conception and conception month.
• Chiropractor - Chiropractic as a profession is defined by the subluxation theory, the belief that disease is caused by impaired nerve flow. A system of diagnosis and treatment that is based upon the concept that the nervous system coordinates all of the body's functions and holds that disease. Chiropractors work to manipulate the spine with their hands to realign the vertebrae and relieve the pressure on the nerves. Rooted in Eastern Mysticism and founded by Daniel David Palmer (1845-1913), who was a Freemason & an occultist after saying he received it from "the other world". Palmer maintained that the tenets of chiropractic were passed along to him by a doctor who had died 50 years previously. David Palmer, believed that maladjusted or displaced vertebra pressed on nerves, interfering with the flow of ‘Innate Intelligence’ and resulting in defective function and poor health which could be alleviated by chiropractic adjustment. Chiropractors think that by adjusting the misalignments they can thereby restore the nerve signals and cure health problems. Palmer considered intelligent energy to be conveying information among various body parts. Palmer called this vital energy "innate intelligence" and claimed it was connected to a Universal Intelligence.
What are subluxations? There is an orthopedic subluxation and a chiropractic subluxation. An orthopedic subluxation is a painful partial dislocation. Simple misalignment of a vertebra, also referred to as a “subluxation,” is commonly caused by disc degeneration, curvatures, spondylolysis, and structural abnormalities. Such a subluxation may or may not be mechanically symptomatic and can be seen on a plain x-ray image. In the absence of pathology such as disc herniation or osteophyte formation, these common vertebral subluxations or misalignments rarely affect spinal nerves and have never been associated with organic disease.
A chiropractic subluxation (without x-ray confirmation) is a mysterious, undetectable and asymptomatic chiropractic “vertebral subluxation complex” alleged to be a cause of disease. Some chiropractors claim to be able to locate these elusive subluxations by using surface electromyography, thermography, vibratory instruments, leg length checks, or by palpating the spine. Unable to provide evidence that commonly occurring vertebral misalignment can cause organic disease, advocates of the subluxation theory have reasoned that there must be some other type of joint dysfunction that can affect general health. They have chosen, by consensus, to call this undetectable lesion a “vertebral subluxation complex,” which “embraces the holistic nature of the human body.)
*****Important note: - Many modern Chiropractors have removed themselves from the spiritual concepts that Palmer incorporated in his spinal adjustments for health. If a chiropractor has removed themselves from treating "vertebral subluxation processes" based on the innate force and the holistic nature of the human body which is the spiritual philosophy behind the practice then Chiropractic treatment can be applied simply for physical adjustments on the spine, tight muscles etc in much the same way as a physiotherapist. It is important for one to know what their Chiropractor believes and practices. It is also documented that the thrusting movements involved with physical adjustments can be very dangerous as some who have had this treatment ending up paralysed as a result.
• Clairaudience - Ability to hear voices and sounds super-normally - spirited voices alleging to be those of dead people giving advice or warnings.
• Clairsentience - A form of extra-sensory perception wherein a person acquires psychic knowledge primarily by feeling.
• Clairvoyance - Ability to see objects or events spontaneously or super-normally above their normal range of vision - second sight, also called psychic sight.
• Colour therapy - Colour Therapy claims to balance and enhance our body's energy centres/chakras by using the colours of the light spectrum, applied to the body, which can help to stimulate the body's own healing process. Various methods such as a light box with a filter of the required colour, meditation, coloured silks applied directly to the skin, solarised water from coloured containers, colour breathing - breathing in the rainbow and affirming each colour and what each colour stands for, with positive affirmations
• Concept therapy - Concerns itself with changing faulty concepts in the consciousness. It is a method of using a positive state of mind to help "innate intelligence" heal the body, thus making any chiropractic technique more effective. Its founder taught that once you know the "great secret" taught in Concept Therapy, you can make any technique work.
• Conjuration - In traditional and most contemporary usage refers to a magical act of invoking spirits or using incantations or charms to cast magical spells. In the context of legerdemain, it may also refer to the performance of illusion or magic tricks for show.
• Consulter of familiar spirits - One who has direct fellowship and communication with demons who pretend to be spirit guides, guardian angels, dead people etc…….
• Cosmology - The study of the physical universe considered as a totality of phenomena in time and space, including big bang theory.
• Coven - A community of witches.
• Creative visualization - Creative visualization is a mental technique that uses the imagination to make dreams and goals come true. By visualizing a certain event, situation, or an object, such as a car, a house, furniture etc., you attract it into your life. It is a process that is similar to daydreaming. It is the process of the power of thoughts and natural mental laws.
• Crystal ball gazing - Fortune telling by means of gazing into mirrors, crystals, etc..
• Crystals - Many regard them to possess mystical power that can be utilized for healing purposes.
• Death magic - Where the name of the sickness plus a written spell is cast into coffin or grave.
• Demon worship
• Disembodied spirits - Any supernatural being that can become visible (or audible) to human beings.
• Divination - The art, practice, or gift of discerning or discovering future events or unknown things, as though by supernatural powers.
• Dowsing or witching for water, minerals, under-ground cables, finding out the sex of unborn child using divining rod, pendulum, twig or planchette.
• Dream Catcher - Hung above the bed, it is used as a charm to protect sleeping children from nightmares.
• Dream interpretation - Using a supernatural gift other than the from the Holy Spirit and the Bible.
• Dungeons and Dragons - Fantasy role playing game. For Christians, a scriptural problem is the fact that Dungeons and Dragons violates the commandment of I Ths.5:22 "Abstain from all appearance of evil". The materials themselves, in many cases, contain authentic magical rituals which were verified from a high priest witch.
• Ectoplasm - Stuff that allegedly oozes from ghosts or spirits and makes it possible for them to materialise and perform feats of telekinesis, such as lifting tables in the dark. In the heyday of séances—the 19th and early 20th centuries—ectoplasm oozed from various orifices of mediums.
• Electromagnetic Therapy (See also Quantum Therapy) - Electromagnetic therapy is based on the belief that an imbalance of the electromagnetic frequencies or fields of energy in the human body can cause illness. Electromagnetic therapy is applied to the body to correct these imbalances. There are various electrical devices available to treat a variety of symptoms. These include low-voltage electricity, magnetic fields, radio waves, or other types of electromagnetic energy. This type of healing is not accepted by all mainstream scientists as science and is instead labelled as pseudoscience. Pseudoscience is a claim, belief or practice which is incorrectly presented as scientific, but does not adhere to a valid scientific method, cannot be reliably tested, or otherwise lacks scientific status. Electromagnetic therapy is based on the basic principles of Quantum physics. Quantum physicists speculate that the force beyond the electromagnetic is something that has been given the name "Tachyon energy." Tachyons are the theoretical source of subatomic particles, and the expansion of the tachyon field is speculated to be the creative force of the universe. Tachyon energy is speculated to be the creative and sustaining force of all life, which requires a certain balance of energy to sustain itself. This energy is also known as Zero-Point Energy or Free Energy. The electromagnetic machines which are part of Quantum Therapy appear to be using science and based on Quantum physics. It is my belief that some scientists have discovered the essence of God, labelled it and put their understanding on it and given it explanations and different names. The machines used in Quantum Therapy work with our energy. The belief behind Quantum Therapy is that matter and energy are one - they are not separate. Science has always believed that the material world consists of matter. Quantum Physics believes that the whole world is energy and that matter is no longer physical and that all is energy. The science behind Quantum physics correlates closely to the belief connected with New Age principles . An invisible energy force which is the primary governing force of the material realm. In this field, those who practise Quantum healing believe everything is connected and man can manipulate and control this force to bring healing to himself. At the end of the day I believe that the invisible energy that gives things life and causes the physical body of man to replicate and heal is the divine presence of God. And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul (Genesis 2:7). Any attempt to mess with the frequency and divine energy force within man is anti-Biblical and is essentially trying to control and manipulate God. Why? Because the energy source within man is the Breath of God. The Bible says He is the potter and we are the clay. You turn things upside down! Shall the potter be regarded as the clay, that the thing made should say of its maker, “He did not make me”; or the thing formed say of him who formed it, “He has no understanding”? (Isaiah 29:16). I feel also that this denotes man playing God and attempting to heal himself with other means other than what God has provided.
On another angle if anyone using magnetic energy denies the universal/spiritual energy force within them and claim it is merely the stimulation of the 'physical energy' that enables the body to heal itself then this also goes against God of the Bible. Man is made up of both physical and spiritual energy. The physical energy is things such as atoms. Atoms are particles made up of matter and in every area of our physical body that carry electrical charges in the form of protons, electrons and neutrons. Some of the QRS machines in Quantum Healing are powerful enough to stimulate or flip around these atoms (as does MRI Machines) but there is no evidence or proof that stimulating or changing temporarily the electrical charges in these atoms can be beneficial. It may even prove harmful, for many people get dreadful side effects after using MRI machines for diagnostic purposes. For decades some scientists have been using science to disprove the existence of God. Why would God use something that denies His divine existence to heal man and give the glory to science when all glory should go to Jesus as healer? The biggest question you have to ask yourself is 'Where is Jesus in Quantum medicine'? These machines are based on the same principle as accupuncture so in essence they are simply accupuncture in a machine!
• Enchanter - A sorcerer or magician.
• E.S.P. - Extra sensory perception - Involves reception of information not gained through the recognised physical senses but sensed with the mind.
• Findhorn Community - Belief: The principles of both inner listening and co-creation with nature are set within the context of being of service to the world. Through changing our consciousness, by listening to our inner source of wisdom, and by co-creating with nature, we can bring about the positive and sustainable changes so needed in our world.
• Familiar Spirits/Spirit Guides - According to theosophical doctrine spirit guides are not always of human descent, however the term can also refer to totems, angels, guardian angels or nature spirits. These spirits are used by mediums and witches, which proclaim a knowledge or insight of future events or outcomes. The word familiar is from the Latin familiaris, meaning a "household servant," and is intended to express the idea that sorcerers had spirits as their servants ready to obey their commands.
What does the Bible say about familiar spirits? A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them (Leviticus 20:27, KJV).
The word familiar spirit in Hebrew according to Strongs concordance is 'ôḇ and means 1) water skin bottle, 2) necromancer, one who evokes the dead, ghost, spirit of a dead one, 3) practice of necromancy, 4) one that has a familiar spirit. Another name for one who has a familiar spirit is medium and their sole purpose is to contact the dead.
I then took the word wizard back to the Strongs concordance in Hebrew and it is yiḏʿōnî and means 1) a knower, 2) one who has a familiar spirit, 3) a familiar spirit, soothsayer, necromancer.
Balaam also the son of Beor, the soothsayer, did the children of Israel slay with the sword among them that were slain by them (Joshua 13:22, KJV). The word soothsayer in Hebrew is Qāsam and means 1) to practice divination, divine, 2) of diviners of the nations, Balaam 3) of false prophets of Israel 4) prohibited.
And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying (Acts 16:16, KJV). We then come to the New Testament where Paul and Silas were troubled by a girl possessed with a spirit of divination which they cast out of her. The word divination in Greek is python and means 1) in Greek mythology the name of the Pythian serpent or dragon that dwelt in the region of Pytho at the foot of Parnassus in Phocis, and was said to have guarded the oracle at Delphi and been slain by Apollo, 2) a spirit of divination.
Scripture concludes that a familiar spirit is a demon that mediums, soothsayers, fortune tellers, and wizards use for their purposes. This demon according to Scripture is the spirit ‘python’. i believe it is the familiar spirit who poses as dead family members or other dead people. Why would satan do this? The answer is to simply allow people to believe when they die they can wander the earthly realm or spirit realm and leads them away from needing Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.

• Halloween - Halloween is celebrated October 31st every year. Participating in Halloween gives sanction to a holiday that promotes witches, divination, haunted houses, and other occultic practices. The history behind Halloween is believed to have originated among the celtic people and was called Samhain. Samhain is a Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season and beginning of winter or "darker-half" of the year. The Celts worshiped a Sun God and believed that without him, they would not live. The Druids, which were the priests of the Celtic people, would build fires on the hilltops in belief that the large fires would help to strengthen the Sun God, and give him power enough to overcome the lord of darkness so that the sun season could continue. They believed that the fires were sacred, therefore they burned dried crops and sacrificed animals to help strengthen the Sun God. At midnight they stop worshipping the Sun God and started to worship the lord of darkness because he will be the ruler for the next six months. This is the starting of the new year. They perform ceremonies through the night to ask the spirits to tell the future of the upcoming year. In the morning each household receives an ember from the fire, this ember is used to start fires in their own homes with the belief that it will ward off evil spirits in the new year. American pagans often hold music and dance celebrations called Witches' Balls in proximity to Samhain. The Celts believed that at the time of Samhain, more so than any other time of the year, the ghosts of the dead were able to mingle with the living, because at Samhain the souls of those who had died during the year traveled into the otherworld. Samhain is also sometimes known as the 'day of the dead' and is about communion with the dead. The wearing of costumes and going from door to door wanting treats can be traced to the Celtic period when it was thought that the souls of the dead were out and around, along with fairies, witches, and demons. Offerings of food and drink were left out to placate them. As the centuries wore on, people began dressing like these creatures, performing antics in exchange for food and drink. This practice is called mumming, from which the practice of trick-or-treating evolved. To this day, witches, ghosts, and skeleton figures of the dead are among the favorite costumes. Roman Catholics later on "converted" the pagans and decreed a day to honor departed saints: May 13, All Saints' Day. The priests instructed the "converted" pagans to keep All Saints' Day, but they continued to celebrate Samhain.
• Handwriting analysis for fortune telling.
• Heavy/Death Metal Music
• Hepatoscopy - Form of divination in which the practitioner studies the entrails of a sacrificed animal, particularly the liver.
• Hex signs (hexagrams) - A design usually in the shape of a star, wheel, or rosette on a circular field. Formerly, hex signs were painted on barns, esp. by the Pennsylvania Dutch, and were thought to ward off evil.
• Himalayan salt lamp (New age healing product) – Believed to release negative ions when heated which brings positive energy into your home).
****** I used to have a salt lamp. I felt uneasy about it all the time and kept wondering if it was okay or not. I kept seeking God to show me if it was occult and whether it would attract evil spirits. I never actually heard directly from the Lord (via Rhema word) but felt led to google if salt lamps contain chi (occult life force energy). What I found was that occult people claimed they did and that is the main reason to sell them – to balance the energy force within man (ie - his human spirit). This goes against the Bible. We should stay away from anything that uses energy as a healing source (other than Jesus Christ). I then googled to see if scientists believed that the negative ions from the charged salt lamps changed the atmosphere (which is the main claim of salt lamps) to benefit us. It appears that the lamps are not large enough to make a significant impact which disrepute the claims that it is of any benefit. Another site claimed that the heat of the bulb was insufficient to release the ions as the bonds holding the ions in the salt were too strong and needed more heat than the bulb could produce. If we buy something that has a root belief that is occult (as in the chi) then that object will definitely carry occult spirits. If you wanted one simply as an ornament I guess you could always rebuke the root beliefs and claim them as a lie in Jesus name and tell any evil spirits to go. I decided that I didn’t want to take that risk, or risk offending the Lord and threw my one away.
• Hinduism - A body of religious and philosophical beliefs and cultural practices native to India and based on a caste system; it is characterized by a belief in reincarnation, by a belief in a supreme being of many forms and natures, by the view that opposing theories are aspects of one eternal truth, and by a desire for liberation from earthly evils.
• Holistic pulsing - Rocking, stretching and lengthening techniques are applied. As the body’s inner flow is amplified by constant movement, so too are the energy blocks. Areas where the flow of movement stops or changes may indicate tension or blockages due to injury, trauma, or habitual holding patterns. Depending on your intention agreed at the start of the session, these may be explored and released through inner awareness, spontaneous movement, breath, and sound. The resulting insight and awareness is a catalyst for true healing.
• Homeopathy - It is based on the principle that “like cures like," meaning that small, highly diluted quantities of medicinal substances are given to cure symptoms. In simple words, it means that any substance, which can produce symptoms in a healthy person, can cure similar symptoms in a person who is sick. This idea is referred to as the “Law of Similars“. It works with the energy source in our body.
• Horoscopes - A forecast of a person's future, typically including a delineation of character and circumstances, based on the relative positions of the stars and planets at the time of that person's birth.
• Hydromancy - Divination by means of signs derived from the appearance of water and its movement.
• Hypnosis - The induction of a state of consciousness in which a person apparently loses the power of voluntary action and is highly responsive to suggestion or direction. Its use in therapy, typically to recover suppressed memories or to allow modification of behavior by suggestion.
• Idols - An image or representation of a god used as an object of worship or a person or thing that is greatly admired, loved, or revered.
• Incantations - A series of words said as a magic spell or charm.
• Incubus - A demon assuming the male sex to have sexual intercourse with woman.
• Incense - Incense burning is used as a form of worship or offering to a God, Goddess or Deity. People burned incense to the Lord throughout the bible as a form of worship to Him. Other religions also burn incense to their gods. A lot of New Age practices also use incense as a cleansing practice to remove negative energy. Because it is used as a sacred practice exercise caution not to burn incense simply to fragrance a room, or for any other purpose, except during worship and praise to God through Jesus Christ. And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne (Revelation 8:3, KJV).
• Inner voice dictation - One of many forms of channeling in which “the person hears a voice speaking mentally, and he or she consciously writes out the material.
• Iridology - A form of alternative medicine involving the diagnosis of body ailments through the examination of the iris of the human eye.
• Japanese flower arranging - The structure of a Japanese flower arrangement is based on a scalene triangle delineated by three main points, usually twigs, considered in some schools to symbolize heaven, earth, and man and in others sun, moon, and earth. The container is a key element of the composition, and various styles of pottery may be used in their construction. The truth about the origin of Ikebana is unidentified. But when the Buddhism reached Japan in the 7th century, it is thought to have come to Japan as part of Buddhist practice. The offering of flowers on the altar in honor of Buddha was part of worship. Ikebana evolved from the Buddhist ritual of offering flowers to the spirits of the dead.
• Kabbala - A body of mystical teachings of rabbinical origin, often based on an esoteric interpretation of the Hebrew Scriptures. A secret doctrine resembling these teachings) - (Occult based interpretation of the Old Testament.
• Karma - Karma is a word from the philosophy of many Indian religions (Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism). The basic theory is that the universe runs according to certain laws. The basic theory is: 'cause and affect', e.g. if you do something good, something good will happen to you, and vice versa. A good part of karma is also based on reaping good or bad things in accordance with your previous life and the next life to come. This goes against Christian principles.
• Levitation - The phenomenon of a person or thing rising into the air by apparently supernatural means.
• Lucky charms - Believed to bring you good luck.
• Magic - Not sleight of hand but using supernatural power.
• Magnets and Magnetic healing - The first magnet was discovered by a shepherd named Magnes whose shoe nails stuck to a rock containing magnetite. Intrigued, he began digging and discovered the first recorded lodestone. Lodestones were henceforth known as “magnetite,” The first scientist to actually make a magnet was actually a physician—Britain’s William Gilbert. In 1600 he discovered not only that the Earth itself was a magnet, but also that magnets could be forged out of iron and that their magnetic properties could be lost when that iron was heated. Franz Anton Mesmer, an 18th-century mathematician and physician proposed that there was magnetic energy flowing throughout the universe and inside the body as well. Mesmer thought that the body had magnetic poles and that illness was caused by these poles moving out of alignment with the universal magnetic flow. He experimented with using magnets to treat seizures and other conditions. Mesmer claimed that he could heal by touch, applying his own magnetism to influence the magnetic flow in a patient's body.
Live Science.com wrote this: Practitioners of certain alternative medical techniques may refer to the invisible energy field as life force, chi or energy flow. Some believe that such fields can be manipulated — sometimes using magnets — to treat illness or injury, according to an article published in 1999 in the Scientific Review of Alternative Medicine. Many companies that sell therapeutic magnets also claim that a small magnet inside of a bracelet or other device helps increase blood flow to the area of the body where the device is worn. This increased blood flow is then said to help tissues heal faster. While this idea may sound plausible because blood contains iron and magnets attract iron, the iron in blood is bound to hemoglobin and is not ferromagnetic (that permanent kind of magnetism that keeps magnets on a refrigerator, for example). If blood was ferromagnetic, you would essentially blow up when undergoing an MRI scan, in which the magnets used are thousands of times more powerful than those incorporated into magnetic bracelets and the like, according to an article by Dr. Bruce Flamm, a clinical professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of California, Irvine. Regardless, the therapeutic magnets sold to ease aches and pains have magnetic fields that are generally too weak to penetrate your skin. You can test this by observing the weak interaction between a magnetic shoe insert and a paperclip when separated by a sock. Human skin is about 3 millimeters deep, thicker than some socks.
By this we see that magnets (including the lodestone) that are used for healing purposes are simply too weak to have any effect on the energy field found within the human body. MRI's which are used for diagnostic purposes are very strong magnets. MRI's work with the atoms in your body. Atoms are particles made up of matter and carry electrical charges in the form of protons, electrons and neutrons. All of the atoms in your body are going in various directions, but when placed in a magnetic field, the atoms line up in the direction of the field. Many people report feeling terrible after going through a MRI which isn't surprising seeing how their internal system has been literally flipped around. Once out of the MRI machine your atoms slowly return to normal. MRI's used by doctors are not reported to heal people, nor used for this purpose, they are a diagnostic tool only used to enhance the image of the atoms magnetic fields that a scanner detects and uses to create an image.
Why then does magnetic healing sometimes seem to work? This is what the Lord showed me: - Man has a spirit/soul and a physical body. The spirit is the breath of God and made up of energy. The spirit feeds the physical body. Herbs, food and medicine works purely on the physical body including the nervous system which can then influence mood. Any means of influencing or changing the spirit/soul other than through Jesus Christ is occult. Blocks in the flow of your spiritual energy are caused through sin and wounds. Nothing outside of God through Jesus Christ can heal that. Homeopathy, Reiki, Quantum Therapy, Magnets and such things are merely shifting or replacing that block for another. You ‘feel’, or ‘see’ a healing take place but there is a cost. The devil will give you false signs and wonders to lead you to ‘seek’ outside of Jesus and His word.”)
• Mantras - Originally in Hinduism and Buddhism - A sacred verbal formula repeated in prayer, meditation, or incantation, such as an invocation of a god, a magic spell, or a syllable or portion of scripture containing mystical potentialities.
• Martial arts (Aikido, Judo, Karate, Kung fu, Tae Kwan Do, Tai Chi etc - These are referred to as "Arts" because they are not merely combat-techniques but are also an expression of an Eastern "spiritual" philosophy. As individuals practice these disciplines, such instructors would expect them to come into harmony with the supposed "laws" of this "spiritual" realm. All of these philosophies assume that the universe is itself "divine" and that this "divinity" also permeates and indwells each human being. Man was originally created to have a personal relationship with his Creator and was never intended to be self-sufficient. Man's authority and power can, therefore, be derived only through a close dependence upon his Creator and never from any element or substance within himself.
• Mediums - A practice in which a person claims to be an intermediary between the physical world and the spiritual world. They use a familiar spirit which aides them to do this. A familiar spirit is a guardian spirit and is demonic. ***In this practice it is our belief that mediums are contacting demons (usually unknowingly) who are posing as dead relatives. This is to deceive the world into the deception that it is not necessary for Jesus Christ to save us, in the belief that when we die we can wander the earth aimlessly as a ghost. The Bible is emphatically clear that necromancy (talking to the dead) through a medium or doing it yourself is a sin. The Bible is also clear that the spirit of a dead one goes back to God for judgement Who sends it to Heaven/Paradise or Hell/Hades. This means that they are unavailable for contact with the earthly realm unless God allows it for a special purpose (as in the transfiguration on the Mount with Jesus, Elijah and Moses) which represented the old law and the Prophets and the teaching that Jesus being glorified through death showed a better way. Another example in the Bible is the witch of Endor who contacted Samuel for Saul. There is conflicting beliefs as to whether it was the real Samuel or a counterfeit Samuel (demon) but either way this event is in no way indicating God's endorsement of talking to the dead or consulting with mediums. In fact, Saul was condemned to death for these actions. So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the LORD, even against the word of the LORD, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to inquire of it; And inquired not of the LORD: therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse. (1 Chronicles 10:13-14, KJV).
• Medicine Man - A male shaman or shamanistic healer, especially among Native American peoples.
• Meditation - The activities, outcomes, and objectives associated with meditation, such as engaging in a daily meditative routine, experiencing altered states of consciousness, manifesting psychic abilities, awakening kundalini energy, and establishing contact with spirits, all fall under the broader umbrella of occult practices, outcomes, and objectives. These pursuits collectively align with the broader scope of the occult world. Meditation is a practice of concentrated focus upon a sound, object, visualization, the breath, movement, or attention itself in order to increase awareness of the present moment, reduce stress, promote relaxation, and enhance personal and spiritual growth. Opens mind to demonic spirits. The concept of meditation involves ‘clearing the mind’ so that you can become more ‘introspective’ or ‘self-aware’. Introspective means to look inside yourself for the solutions to life. The Bible says we need to look to Christ and His word for the solutions to life. In fact, Jesus said that without Him we can do nothing (John 15:5). Stillness of the mind means to meditate in an attempt to achieve altered consciousness, which can allow you to have new insights. The Bible says to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus and to take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ. Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5, NKJV). Under control means to be submitted to Christ. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8, NKJV). Bringing your mind into a passive mental state of consciousness and emptying it of all thoughts means that your mind is unprotected. Only with a blank mind can new age practitioners begin to influence you to their religious ideas and belief systems. It is no coincidence that satan wants you to be relaxed and in a different state of consciousness (i.e., not sober-minded), as it is the same technique that psychiatrists and psychologists use to try to hypnotize someone! The Bible warns us to be sober-minded, not in an altered or super-relaxed state of consciousness. Godly meditation is focusing on Jesus and His glory; focusing on His laws and commands, and praising Him. The focus of Biblical meditation is never on ‘self’ or nothingness – it is on God and our commitment to love and serve one another through His love. Biblical meditation is having our minds actively engaged and focused on God's word. Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you (James 4:7, NKJV). Resistance is key to staying sober in mind. To do this one needs to be aware of their surroundings and thinking.
• Mental suggestion (Suggestion operates along the lines of acquiescence, imitation, association, and repetition, always acting through physical agents for inducing mental states. Active Suggestion - the induction or excitement of mental state or ideas in others by means of positive command, affirmation, statements, etc., bearing directly upon the desired mental state. Passive Suggestion - the induction or excitement of mental state or ideas by the subtle insinuation, introduction, or insertion of ideas into the minds of others, which insinuated ideas act in the direction of inducing the desired mental state). *When we try in our strength to take control of our minds using anything other than the word of God (which renews our mind into the mind of Christ) it opens the door for satan, as this is an unyielded area. The Bible tells us to renew our minds and meditate on what the Word says about us and our situations. We need to yield our minds to Jesus and ask Him to transform our minds into the mind of Christ. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His (Romans 8:5-9, NKJV). When satan is in control of certain areas within our minds we may have trouble with negative controlling thoughts and emotions. We need to trust God to guide us into His perfect will via our thought processes. Giving your mind to Christ and relinquishing control does not remove your free will but instead helps you to operate in the fruit of the spirit self-control. You are still in control of making decisions, but having the mind of Christ will allow us to make the right decisions! Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established (Proverbs 16:3, NKJV). By using the power of suggestion we are trying to control and reprogramme our own minds the worlds way, and not the way of the Kingdom. The word of God (scripture) is what we should be using to renew our minds, not Mans ideas of reprogramming our minds). See Scriptures such as :- Bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5). Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth (Colossians 3:2). For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16). In regard to things like positive affirmation therapy on the surface it sounds good but it becomes all about self. Self sufficiency and trying to control one's own environment through the focus on self. We are supposed to take our eyes of ourselves and seek first the Kingdom and onto the needs of others. We also can only do things through Christ who strengthen us (Philippians 4:13). Positive affirmation therapy further entrenches the spirit of self sufficiency which teaches us that we can do all things ourselves. Christianity is all about partnership with Christ because of our need for a saviour. Encouraging self sufficiency only separates us further from Christ.
• Mental telepathy - Communication from one mind to another without using sensory perceptions.
• Mesmerism - Sometimes called Animal magnestism, this is based on the concept of 'magnetic fluid' being channeled through the laying on of hands. The belief is that the sun, moon, and fixed stars mutually affect each other in their orbits; that they cause and direct in our earth a flux and reflux not only in the sea, but in the atmosphere, and affect in a similar manner all organized bodies through the medium of a subtle and mobile fluid, which pervades the universe and associates all things together in mutual intercourse and harmony, and this, in turn, could heal the sick and cure the blind.
• Metaphysics - Study of spirit world - The Definition of Metaphysics is often given as "the philosophical study of that which cannot be perceived with the five physical human senses. The term meta means "above" and physics refers to the "physical" in Latin. Therefore, literally translated metaphysics means "above what is physical." More generally, metaphysics is a branch of philosophy that investigates reality, existence and knowledge from a mystical point of view.
• Mind control - Mind control is a process of either unconscious or intentional change of an individual's behavior, thought, and emotional patterns through subtle, deceptive, and damaging means by unethical spiritual leaders who hold positions of trust and authority over them.
• Mind Dynamics - The art of using your subconscious mind to obtain complete control over your destiny. It can involve Neuro Linguistic Programming, time line and hypnosis. NLP is a discipline that among other things attempts to influence the subconscious mind and affect positive change by consciously using positive words to refocus on the things within one’s control. Time Line Therapy is a reprogramming process that releases the effects of negative experiences and helps a person let go of past influences). In regard to NLP (Neuro-linguistic Programming) this works with reprogramming the mind. Anything other than Jesus Christ and His word to transform our minds becomes mind control. Repeated phrases, awareness, concentration, and focus to bring about change is buying into the ability that man is in control. When man tries to be in control rather than relinquish control to Jesus and work with Him to bring about His ‘will’ you are striving forward in your own works to appropriate your will. It becomes all about your will and what you desire to happen rather than entering into His will and what He wants to happen. You are taking control over what you want your future to hold. NLP can change your future but it is not God’s future for you. This is from a NLP website: In NLP, we have a saying: the conscious mind is the goal setter, and the unconscious mind is the goal getter. Your unconscious mind is not out to get you–rather, it’s out TO GET FOR YOU whatever you want in life. In regard to Time Line Therapy it uses hypnosis (more mind control) and NLP to release negative emotions and trauma. I personally wouldn’t want to touch either of these things, as there is a cost even if it appears effective.
• Mind mediumship - A form of communication with spirits.
• Mind reading - Where a person "sees" what is in another person's mind. Mind reading is also called telepathy.
• Moon-mancy - Beliefs involving doing certain things in conjuction with the moon.
• Motorskopua - Mechanical pendulum for diagnosing illness.
• Mysticism - The knowledge of, and especially the personal experience of, states of consciousness, i.e. levels of being, beyond normal human perception, including experience of and even communion with a supreme being.
