Spirit of Infirmity

Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath.  And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up.  But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.”  And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God (Luke 13:10-13, NKJV).

Infirmity according to the Bible is disease and sickness.

I once ministered to a lady who had sickness from the day she was born to her present age.  The Lord told me she was battling a generational infirmity spirit and gave me insight and direction on how to deal with it.  This is what I believe He showed me ~

The roots are deep.  Spoken word curses.  Destruction and self-destruction. Destructive words spoken over her by herself and others.

I saw a picture of the lady with this spirit sitting side by side like a child sitting with its friend.  The Lord spoke and told me that for this lady it had been a lifelong companion and infirmity is all she had known because it came from the generational bloodline.

He showed me that it first took root when her ancestors had purposely pronounced curses and diseases on other people of sickness, disease and death.  This is because of the reaping and sowing effect.  Infirmity now was an inherited spirit. She had come from a long line of witches and warlocks, and I believe they would have done many a spell or hex against people.

The Lord showed me that sin opens the door for infirmity and that specific sins cause specific diseases and sickness but for generational infirmity it begins with the ancestors pronouncing curses purposely on others. He told me that infirmity is a multifunctional spirit as it can manifest in many different forms and ways.

(PRAYER) – “Father God in Jesus name on behalf of myself and my bloodline I repent for every sin, word and action that was contrary to You and Your Kingdom that opened the door to infirmity.  I repent for myself and bloodline for anytime we cursed another with sickness, disease and death.  I repent for all self-destructive words spoken over ourselves and others and forgive those who spoke them in Jesus name.  I renounce these things.  I am sorry for accepting this spirit and allowing it into my life instead of rebuking it and casting it out.  I now take authority over every spirit of infirmity and rebuke you and command you to leave me and my family in Jesus name”.

Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way;
And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all (Isaiah 53:4-6, NKJV).
